The People's Keepers

Idea Submission for The People's Money:
Creating a community safety council with diverse members (age, race, religion, etc) that works in partnership with the NYPD to ensure the safety and well-being of residents. Entrusted members from each building to form a leadership board, not only those with time and resources, but with genuine interest and compassion for the community.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
When it comes to civilian protection, there isn't enough equity in protection of certain neighborhoods, areas, or communities. With public safety receiving more funding, it is hoped that the money will go to neighborhoods and communities in need if their safety is not a priority.
